PADI Divemaster internships and courses with Utila Dive Centre, Honduras, Central America.

Take the first step in your dive career and become a PADI Divemaster. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. Our PADI Divemaster internships develop your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. At Utila Dive Centre, we have an unmatched program that offers you so much more than anywhere else within the Bay Islands of Honduras. At our award winning PADI Career Development Center, you'll get more than the basic training and will be trained with the same foundation as our Instructors. We can schedule the Advanced/Rescue course around your arrival. They will take about 1 week, and then as long as you have 40 logged dives you can take our next Divemaster course (which starts every Monday) prior to joining one of our monthly scheduled Instructor classes.
You need to have 40 logged dives to start the Divemaster course, but if you are short of the 40 dives then we do include unlimited diving with our program. Depending on how many dives you have upon arrival, we schedule a pre-week to the Divemaster program where you start getting involved in coral reef surveying, logging dives and improving essential dive skills such as your buoyancy control and air consumption, which will take you up to the required 40 dives. However, we would recommend an early reservation as we do have limited spaces/materials.
We're also offering International Yacht Training programs that can be taken concurrently and in conjunction 
with our Divemaster internships. The IYT/PADI Dive Boat Mate is being offered and scheduled in conjunction with our PADI Divemaster internship, and we will be offering training all year round and e-learning is best completed independently prior to arriving on Utila and supported with our Instructors remedial training. The IYT Dive Boat Mate course allows our PADI pro's to start tendering and driving boats as second command, logging sea time and once an individual has completed 180 days (4 hours = 1 day) of sea time, as dive boat crew, they are eligible to take the IYT Coxswain Boat Captains course, which we also offer at Utila Dive Centre.

In recent years the expansion and growth of the yachting industry and recreational super yachts, makes this the perfect compliment to enhance your dive training and employ-ability in dive resorts, and on day boats, live-aboard vessels and super yachts worldwide. We encourage early enrollment on these courses as we have very limited spaces, please inquire for additional costs and scheduling.

1) Integrated with our 4 week PADI Divemaster internship is the PADI Project Aware Coral Watch program. For the 3rd consecutive year, we are partnering with PADI's Project Aware and the University of Queensland so you'll learn to assess the condition of corals and record their health, and upload to a scientific database. This valuable program will improve your understanding of Coral Reefs and you'll make a valuable contribution to the Coral Watch program and to the global understanding of the condition of reef systems in the Caribbean.
2) Our upgraded preferred partner prestige card! UDC is a member of the Global Dive Network and also the Central America TrekCATS program. You'll receive reduced rates and preferential treatment with members throughout Central America and also with our preferred partners in the Red Sea, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. You get the Prestige card to prove it!
3) As a DSAT Technical diving facility, the Utila Dive Centre runs monthly technical diving courses, and we're the only facility in Honduras, and Central America/Caribbean to offer PADI rebreather diver and Instructor courses.
