If you're serious about professional scuba instruction, and want to be more than an instructor (perhaps work in PADI Instructor Development Centers/Career Development Centers, own your own PADI dive center/resort, or progress to becoming a PADI Course Director yourself), then the Staff Instructor course is the next logical step for you as a PADI Instructor. PADI IDC Staff Instructors are PADI Instructors moving towards instructor-level training or teaching the Instructor Development Course (IDC). IDC Staff Instructors can independently train and certify PADI Assistant Instructors as well as help train PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.

Only PADI IDC Staff Instructors are qualified to teach Assistant Instructor courses independently, thereby enhancing your employment prospects, earnings potential and standing within the dive community. Another benefit of becoming an IDC Staff Instructor is that you can assist or conduct Instructor Development Courses (IDC’s) under the supervision of our Instructor Development team.
