PADI Technical/Sidemount Diving courses and dives at Utila Dive Centre Honduras
Your fascination may have begun when you were swimming over your first steep drop off and were intrigued by the darkness and depths below. Perhaps now you wish to advance your own dive skills and gain access to deeper sites, explore shipwrecks and see different aquatic life. Whatever your motivation, the PADI and DSAT Tec-Rec diving courses open up a whole new, deeper aquatic world for you to explore. You will belong to an elite group of divers when you complete these training programs. You can enroll in the Tec Deep Diver start off with the PADI Tec 40 course or the complete PADI Tec Deep Diver course and discover a new world beyond the depths of recreational diving, in either backmount or sidemount configuration.
Utila Dive Centre is both a PADI Career Development Center and an IANTD Instructor Training facility, which means that together we can offer comprehensive technical diver training programs (up to a Trimix Instructor level) from the 2 most credible dive training agencies in the dive industry. During your training with us, you will receive classroom sessions supported with the latest teaching materials and ‘Microsoft PowerPoint’ presentations and training from world wide experienced Instructors who have familiarity and competent diving skills in several different environments. (We offer tuition in several languages.) We do not believe in technical group sizes of more than 3 divers to 1 Instructor and will bring in additional staff if conditions/group progress dictates.
Our standards are high, so when you undertake your training with us that is exactly what you are investing in - training, not certification. You can be assured that when you complete our programs you will have attained a high standard of technical dive skill and knowledge. Our ‘Open Water’ training dives will be conducted on the Southside of Utila, before we venture to the deeper Northside walls of the island and the remote outer banks for the final dives of the more advanced technical courses we offer. Utila Dive Centre’s boats are modern, well equipped and safety/comfort orientated. We have two Bauer compressors and our own gas blending station for mixes of ‘Trimix’ and ‘Nitrox’.
Whether you undertake a course through PADI or IANTD, and on backmount or sidemount configuration, you can be assured that the standard of in-water training will be very similar. What will differ will be the training methodology and materials used during the program. We’ll counsel with you to make sure that the program you take is what is best suited for your personal and professional needs. In 2010, our team and management wrote a sidemount specialty course and had it approved by PADI in order to issue sidemount diver training and certification. If you desire, with your technical diver training we can also offer the PADI Sidemount Diver and (where qualifying) the PADI Sidemount Instructor course.
It doesn’t just have to be about training! If you are already a qualified ‘extended range/technical diver’ or ‘Trimix’ diver, then we can custom tailor technical diving packages for individuals or groups which can provide you with your own boat, guides and logistical support teams.
